Abdominal Exercises to Get Six Pack Abs
Every man wants a firm flat stomach and a rippling 6 pack, and if they say that they don’t, they are most probably lying to cover up the fact that, like so many others, they have tried and failed. Certain exercise work to help you achieve perfect abs and some don't, simple as that. Exercise alone, however, will never result in a 6 pack. This can only be achieved by combining the exercises with a healthy, balanced diet.
A huge amount of people are under the misconception that all you have to do to get your perfect abs is do to sits ups and crunches. While these are effective in strengthening and tightening the underlying muscles, they do little to flatten the stomach itself. So your tight muscles will never be seen under that stubborn layer of fat. This fat is the essential part that must be removed in order for your six pack to be seen and admired.
So what are the most effective exercises?
Cardiovascular workouts are by far the most effective in both burning fat and toning those stomach muscles. Good examples of these are the dance workouts which focus on flattening and firming your entire mid section. One of the most popular around at the minute is the Hip-hop abs workout; these really work that stubborn area and burn away the fat. Another way to achieve this is to go circuit training which incorporates abdominal exercised you do while standing. For maximum results you need to do these several times a week. After as short a time as 2 weeks you will really start to the difference.
Its a great feeling when you first notice that that stubborn layer of stomach fat is starting to dissipate and your stomach is getting noticeably flatter. This is when you really need to start putting in the work to tone and strengthen those abs. The problem with sit ups and crunches is the pressure they can put on your lower back, those of us who haven’t exercised for a while don't realise that we are pulling ourselves up using the back muscles instead of the stomach. Result? a very painful back and a flabby stomach. Standing crunches and knee lifts eliminate this risk toy our spines. Incorporate resistance bands or weights to be even more effective. If you have been doing the hip-hop or dance workouts, keep at them but concentrate and push yourself even harder while keeping the abs muscles contracted and tightened while you are doing it.
So know you know that lying on your back doing numerous sit ups is only putting pressure on your neck and spine, and not getting you a 6 pack. Do your dancing and remember whenever undertaking any other kind of exercise, such as swimming or running, keep your stomach muscles tightened. This may take some getting used to at first, but you’ll soon get the hang of it and your flat stomach and admirable abs will be worth the effort.
