This type of exercise includes Sit ups and crunches. Your stomach muscles need to be tight for you to have a 6 pack, and these are the best exercise to achieve this. Be careful when you first start your sit ups or crunches, particularly if you haven’t done them before. Build up gradually, if you go full out first time you risk damaging your back or straining your stomach muscles, both of which are extremely painful. Aim for 10-20 to start with depending on your general fitness, and aim to do one extra each day. You will soon be able to achieve 100 of either of these easily.
Machines to work your stomach muscles
There is a great array of exercise machines specifically designed to work the stomach muscles. These can be found at any gym or you can purchase one to use at home. Remember, these machines will only work for you if you actually get on them! If you are unsure about using this kind of equipment, get yourself to a gym where you will be shown how to use them correctly to achieve the maximum results.
Healthy Nutrition and diet
There are many so called ‘super foods’ which you should bring into your diet as they burn fat and help to build muscle. To get your perfect abs, you should have a diet that included all the major food groups, as they all play a part. Crash dieting will never get you a 6 pack; in fact, it won’t get you anything except a feeling of lethargy, and never embark on a ridiculous plan which cuts out one or more of these groups. A balanced diet combined with exercise is the only way to go.
Pilates
These are essentially exercises which concentrate on stretching and working certain core muscles individually. These are a great help to achieving your abs if you do them every day in conjunction with your other exercises. The stretching gives you more flexibility, which in turn helps you to do more exercises, and thus see results quicker. Get yourself to a class or purchase a good instructional DVD to ensure you do them correctly.
All of these combined will result in you achieving your goal. It may seem like a chore at first, but you will soon start to feel really good in yourself, and once you see the results you will have the motivation to keep going.
